Photo story Final Project

Story Sequence – My story is a story of our day our family spent in New York City on July 27, 2009. I take other on a journey through the different attractions we visited. We began our day at the Stamford, CT train station. First we went to the Statue of Liberty and Liberty Island, and then we visited Time Square, the M&M store, and the Hershey store. Then we went to supper at Mars 2112 restaurant, where you take a ride in a rocket ship to Mars and when the doors of the ride open it is as if you have landed on Mars with aliens and all. After finishing supper we headed to the Empire State Building and went to the 86th floor observatory and looked out over the city. Then we headed back to the subway to Grand Central Station and caught the Metro North train back to Stamford, CT.

Images – create the atmosphere of New York City and each of the attractions that we visited.

Duration – Photo story is 21 slides long. Had to make it more than 10 in order to convey the whole story and make it flow together.

Week #9 Photoshop Watermark

This photo I took on Friday as we headed to New Jersey for my daughters basketball tournament. This was taken in Shelburne. The top is the original and the bottom is the photo with the watermark embedded into it. The only thing I can't figure out is how to tell if it is actually there. I went to read watermark and it took me to the digimark website but it didn't tell me how to read it. Guess I just have to trust it is there.

Grandma & Uncle's Stones

For my fellow classmates, this post is not directed for you but I have also shared this blog with the rest of my family and my grandma and uncle have passed away and their stones have been delivered to the cemetary and so I am posting this here to share with my family that lives in CT since they can not be here to see them. Jacob and I brought flowers to them on Monday and placed them on the stones. Just thought you might like to see them.

Week #8 Photoshop Photo #4

The top photo is my orginal and the bottom is my altered photo. I made it appear as though it was misty using the dodge tool. You definietly have to play with it to learn it.

Week #8 Photoshop Photo #3

I finally figured out the dodge and burn tools. Yippeee!!! They are very neat. The photo on the right is my original and the photo on the left I used the dodge tool to lighten up the grass on the ground so as not to draw your eye to the ground and then wrote Angel in the sky and just lightened up the corners of the photo to give it a little bit of a framing. I am sure I can do a lot more with it now that I figured it out, but this is a cool start.

Week #8 Photoshop Photo #2

These are pictures I took at my friend's wedding on the 4th of July. The photo on the left is the original and the photo on the right is the altered photo. I created it so it appears dark in the top left and bottom right corner and the light is shining down from behind them. I love the way it came out. I went to the filter tab, then render, then lighting effects and then adjusted it to where I liked it.

Week #8 Photoshop Photo #1

On Thursday, we were on our way home from Barre from my daughters soccer game when all the severe storms were developing. In between Stowe and Morrisville the sky's became very scary looking and of course I whipped out my camera and started shooting. The photo on the left is the original photo I snapped while the photo on the right is the one I "fixed". The original photo did not depict the darkenss that was present with these storms, so I thought about where the light was coming from which was behind me and then altered the photo to represent that. First I cropped the photo to get rid of the mirror and the road. Then I made the photo darker and made it a little lighter in the top left corner to depict where the light was coming from. I love the new "fixed" photo. I think it is very pretty.

Week #7 Photomosaic

I downloaded the photomosaic program and decided to create my own. I took the photo of my son on the swing at the beach and used it to do the mosaic. It is really neat how the program sorts the tile colors to make them all create a totally different picture. It is amazing technology.

Olivia original re-post

I realized while looking at my blog that I posted the wrong original to the picture I "fixed" of Olivia. But it is the same idea, the coloring was really bad and so I fixed it. If you notice in my first post the "fixed" photo Olivia's hand is down and in the original I posted(the wrong one) both of her hands are on the toothbrush. Here is the correct original with her hand down and lousy coloring.

Week #7 Photoshop

I found this additional photo that I wanted to adjust in Photoshop because of the coloring. The photo on the right is the original and the photo on the left is the "fixed" photo. The color is much better.

Summer Days

These are some photo's of the fun we have been having this past week. Jacob had a play date with Tyler. Our fmaily and the Vanat's headed to the beach Friday afternoon since we finally had beach weather and Jacob and my cousin's baby Olivia played in Jacob's pool Saturday before the rain came. Here's to more summer days!!!

Week #7 Photoshop Photo #2

Here I took this photo of my mom and Charlie from the wedding and cropped it. I then changed the saturation and the individual color saturations as well as the vibrance and exposure of the photo. The photo on the right is the "fixed" photo, while the one on the left is the original.

Ted, Margie, Bob & Charlie

I took this photo at the wedding I went to on July 4th. It was actually taken in the tent that the wedding reception was held in but I didn't like the background so I moved the four friends to a new background with tree's.

Week #7 Photoshop Photo #1

I chose to adjust this picture in photoshop because I love this picture of my son Jacob and our cat Kasey, but it was just too bright. I have others but this was the only photo where you could see all of his face and all of Kasey's face. I created adjustment layers and then altered the saturation, colors and hue and the exposure. It made a huge difference and as you can see the top photo is more pleasant than the original bottom photo. The only problem I see with the new photo is that Jacob's sleeve seems really bright white and I couldn't figure out how to fix that.
